10 on Tuesday
1. I am beat.
2. Derek is 3 and still isn’t talking much. Following the advice of Derek’s peditrician, we had him evaluated. It’s been a very long process. Although it was painless, it’s been exhausting. Today we had our IEP meeting with the school district. Long story short, Derek will be going to school ( therapy) 5, yes FIVE, days a week starting this fall. It will be for 3 hours a day.
3. I know it’s best for him, I am just not ready for it. I can’t even think about it without crying.
4. I feel bad for being so upset. It’s nothing serious. I have nothing to be upset about, it could be a whole lot worse.
5. I was hold back tears during the entire meeting today. It’s hard to listen to 6 complete strangers analyze his very move.
6. To make matters worse, as soon as we sat down, one of the women that did the screening gave me a picture of Derek that had been taken during one of the first meetings. So, I had that sweet little face staring up at me the entire time. Dan later said he almost turned it over cause he knew that it was making things harder for me.
7. The school he will be going to is only about 4 blocks from our house. But, he does have the option of riding the bus. Don’t even get me started on that though!
8. He has been so clingy lately. Hopefully that changes in the next 3 months.
9. I know that this is going to help him tremendously. I have to just keep telling myself that.
10. I am going to try and move on now.
Rock N Roll Birthday Invitation
I’ve been wanting to add a Rock N Roll invitation to the shop for awhile. This would also be great for a baby shower!

It can also be done with a photo. I added some cool effects to this picture, but it can be done without.

Bug Party Cake & Cupcakes
Check out the bug party decorations and food too!
I think the cakes and cupcakes were my favorite part of the party. The mini cupcakes were frosted and then topped with crushed Oreo cookies. The bees and caterpillars were made from fondant.

The cakes were made by a local bakery.

Bug Party Decorations
In case you missed my post on the bug party food, you can find it here.
Cookie bouquets doubled as decoration for the table, and favors for the guests. The cookies were made by Pam of Cookie Crazie. They were so cute, and yummy too! I started by cutting sod to fit in each pot. To make the bouquet, I simply tape a stick to the back of the bag (thanks for the tip Pam!).

I love the tags! I glued a pom pom for the spider body and used foam dots to set the “grass” in place.

My mom and I got a little carried away with the bunting. I wish I had a picture of it all hung. It was everywhere!

Here’s a sneak peak at the cupcakes. In the background you can see the Happy Birthday banner I made. I am hoping to add those to my shop soon. If you have an interest in one before then, let me know.

No, we weren’t part of the decoration.
Here’s another picture of the bunting. Plus, it’s a decent picture of both of us (for once!).

Bug Party Food
It seems like just yesterday I was planning the airplane and monkey parties. I think I started planning the bug party just days after the monkey party. Of course, the tone of the party started with the invitations.
Because I have so many details I want to share, I am going to break the party up into several posts. Let’s start with the food. Silverware was wrapped around different bug fact cards. They were perfect!

In keeping with the bug theme, all food served was some sort of bug. Besides what is pictured below, we also served ‘slugs’ or sweet pickles, and ‘wing’ or potato chips.

We made fruit and vegetable arrangements that doubled as part of the decorations on the tables.

A party isn’t complete with candy, right? Treats included bug graham crackers and various gummy bugs and worms.

Happy 2nd Birthday Lucas!
What did I ever do without this precious little boy? Ok, maybe I slept a little more…and cleaned a little more….but who needs to sleep or wants to clean??

Here’s a slideshow from the day of his birth.

We celebrated the boys’ birthday together with a bug themed birthday party. Thank you so much to the friends and family that helped make the day very special! I will be posting pictures from the party just as soon as I catch up on orders and SLEEP!
{Real Parties} Sprinkle Baby Shower
I love when my customers change up my designs. Kathryn used my Ice Cream Cone Invitation to set the stage for a faboulous “sprinkle” for a friend. The colors of the invitation and coordinating items can be modified to work for a boy too!

Along with the invitation, I also created a matching sticker and tent card, both shown below.

To check out the rest of Kathryn’s pictures, head on over to her blog!
10 on Tuesday
1. I guess the title should technically be 10 on Wednesday. It’s 12:45am as I type this…and past my bedtime. These late nights are really starting to catch up with me.
2. Staying up this late is not good. It’s been so long since I had dinner that I am starving!
3. Saturday is the big party! I am up to my eyeballs in party stuff. I hope I can get everything put together in time!
4. There is nothing like just colored and cut hair! I got mine done tonight…it feels great!
5. Maybe I should have gone grocery shopping instead. Seriously.

6. Look at my poor starving kids looking for something to eat.

7. Here’s a custom design I created for one my repeat customers. I love how simple it is. You can find it in my shop!

8. Here’s another custom design created for a repeat customer. The guest of honor is a huge fan of the Italian soccer team, Juventus. So, it was designed with their colors and logo as an inspiration.

9. Yet another custom design for another repeat customers.

10. I obviously don’t have too much to share tonight. I think I just need to go to sleep! Hopefully next week’s post will be more interesting.
