60th Birthday Party – Fishing Theme

Wow. Has it really been over 3 months since my last post?!? Thanks to those that have stuck around. I’m hoping to post more regularly.

One of the highlights of our summer was a surprise 60th birthday party we had for my dad. I can’t tell you how much he enjoys fishing. It only made sense that we used it as the theme for the party.

Here are a few pictures from the night.

  • Can you please tell me how you made the bobbers and the reels. I am doing my little boys birthday in fishing and he would love these. thanks

    • Staci, I have this cake pop maker, http://thebabycakesshop.com/products/cake-pop-makers/cp-12 Once they cool, I dipped half of the pop in melted white choc. melts, turn it upside down and let it harden. Then I dipped the other half in the red melts.

The reels are cookies I think they are called Pinstripes??, dipped in chocolate. While they are still wet, put a big marshmallow in between two cookies.

      Good luck!

  • Hi- Im having the same theme for my husbands 40th. I love those large lures you have hanging in the net. Where did you find those at? Love your pics. Great party!

    • Thanks Megan! My dad loved the party!! The lures were actually stashed in the back of my dad’s closet for years. I’m pretty sure he found them at Bass Pro, not positive though. Have fun!!
