Gender Reveal Party – Little Man or Little Lady?

We found out in November that I was pregnant. We hadn’t planned on having a gender reveal party, but I couldn’t resist! We just invited immediate family and requested no gifts.

When the family arrived they got a bow or a mustache, depending on whether they thought it was a boy or girl. I thought I’d give them a chance to make at slightly educated guess and had a list of the old wives tales and what they predicted. Funny enough, based on the ones I did, it was slightly in favor of a boy.

I cut the mustaches from felt and hot glued a pin on the back. The ribbon was just tied and a pin glued on the back.

The food served were the foods I have been craving (plus pizza).

My mom also made cute little baby feet jello jigglers.

I found the molds for the mustache and bow on Amazon.

The straws are from Isakay Boutique on Etsy. If you are looking for party supplies, I definitely recommend her!

I found the lanterns via Pinterest. You can find the tutorial here. They were filled with confetti. When it was time for the big reveal, the boys each pulled a string on a lantern to release the confetti.

The boys were more concerned with the confetti than anything else. Actually, we had told the boys the night before. Here’s how we told them…

{Real Parties} Monster Party!!

For me, choosing a party theme is the easy part. Then I get started on pulling it all together. When I was working on the monster theme, it just wasn’t coming together like I had in my mind. Until I found the black and white chevron fabric!

Food
Since we had 17 kids under the age of 4 (CRAZY!), we decided an early party time would work well with nap times. While a brunch menu can be challenging for a large party, everything turned out perfect! We served cereal, french toast sticks, a couple quiches, potato casserole, donuts, fruit, etc.

Drinks include, milk, orange juice, water, and a green smoothie (recipe courtesy of One Charming Party http://onecharmingparty.com/2011/03/10/st-pattys-day-smoothie/).

Decorations
Streamers and the numbers 3 and 4 were created using tutorials from http://jordanferney.blogspot.com/

Activities
I created a huge wall with the outlines of the monsters from the invite for the kids to color. It was definitely the hit of the party! I also created a pin the eye on the monster and had a table for the kids to make their own masks.

Favors
Favors are always fun for me to put together. I like to send guests home with something they will end up using….or eating! Favor bags included cute monster bags (created loosely from this tutorial http://www.hideousdreadfulstinky.com/2011/02/crayon-monster-art-tote-tutorial.html
Inside the bags were, a monster sticker book, a box of crayons, a coloring book I created, pencil, tattoos, sucker, bowl and spoon set.

Monster Party Invitations

This past weekend we had a monster birthday party for the boys. I’m still sorting through all the photos, hoping to have that done tomorrow. For the invites, I use a tri-fold 5×5 design.

Shop Open

After a nice relaxing month long vacation, my shop is open again! I have to admit, I had a hard time not working. I did work on a few things, including a few new designs.

After numerous requests for colored envelopes…I am now offering them! If you are interested in a certain color or size, but don’t see it in my shop, just ask!

I’ve also added holiday designs to the shop!
